Owned by Ronald from London, ON.
This 1940 Ford pickup has had an off frame complete restoration as well as customization from top to bottom. I wish I could say that I did most of the work myself but I cannot!
My journey to buying this pickup started with me actually going to the world famous Barrett-Jackson Auction to source a new vehicle after selling my Corvette. I was set to purchase either a Oldsmobile Cutlass or a retro Corvette. However, when I saw the paint job and various colors in paint on this 1940 Ford PU , I was blown away by the spectrum of colors.
I then took a closer look at vehicle and was pleased to see that the interior had been totally redone , including some customizations like digital dash panel, surround sound stereo system, full air conditioning system and the list goes on. The box of truck is finished with hardwood planks and chrome fasten down strips.
Under the hood is a crate motor 350hp with 4 barrel carburetor. There is no shortage of chrome under the hood either. A few of the chrome items are manifold covers, alternator , fan shroud, air filter cover as well as many fittings and lines are alloy to match color of truck.
While this vehicle is restored to look as close as possible to an original, it has been customized with some very subtle design lines from front to back.
Other chrome features that stand out are the centerline rims, front and rear bumpers, exhaust, front center radiator grill. All these features are finished in chrome which only makes the Sherwin Williams tri-coat paint look even more spectacular. This paint shows traces of blue, green, red, depending on how you look at vehicle and sunshine. It is predominantly a purple shade that stands out.
We have showed the truck at a few competitive shows over last 10 years and it has won several awards under the following categories best paint, best truck, people choice and best over-all.
