Vintage Car of the Month

Posted On May 4, 2015

Owner: Brian, Brantford ON

This 1966 Plymouth Valiant Signet Commando was only produced for 1 year for the US market.  It has been professionally repainted in jet black with a base coat, clear coat finish and the body is original with no body work, original floor pans, trunk floor & vinyl roof. The interior is in excellent condition and is original except for the reupholstered seats and new head liner.

Powered by a rebuilt 340 cubic inch motor with a 4 barrel carburetor and linked to an 833 4 speed transmission with an 8 ¾ inch “391” posi rear end, the vehicle is a pleasure to drive.

Brian purchased this car from the original owner in Southern New Jersey 20 years ago. It still had the bill of sale in the glove box and was purchased new for $3200.

This car came equipped with an optional vinyl roof, a pair of rare “bumperettes” on the rear bumper and has a tach with a shift light in working order. The body and undercarriage remain completely rust free as the car has never seen a winter drive.

Brian looks forward to many years of enjoyment from this rare beauty.
