Vintage Car of the Month
1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1

Posted On October 1, 2019

Owned by Wolfgang from Elora, ON.

I purchased the 1970 Mach 1 in September of 1998 in Casper Wyoming.

This was just a rolling shell but in great condition. I didn’t start to restore it until a couple of years later. Me being a licensed body man I could do all the body and paint and also most of the mechanical.

It first started out with a 351 Cleveland and an auto transmission, but after a couple of years later I decided I wanted a big block so I had a 428CJ rebuilt and hooked it up to a 4spd top loader trans.

The Grabber Green is the original colour the car came with from the factory, which kind of grew on me very quick, so we definitely had to stick with it.

We have had a lot of enjoyment out of the car over the years and also the black 1967 Mustang convertible you see in the back ground in a couple of the pics. My wife will take the 67 conv. and I take the Mach 1 when we go to shows or cruise nights.

Muscle cars have been a part of most of my life since I was a teenager and I’m sure will be for many more years to come.
